Mr. Patrick La Forge invited me to my first AEG luncheon in March 2024. Patrick had previously mentioned, a month or so prior to the event, the excellent networking, calibre of entrepreneurs, government interaction and overall first class experience at AEG events.
While attending my first event, I was fortunate to be a guest at Mr. La Forge’s table and I sat next to Mr. Cal Nichols. Honourable Minister of Finance Nate Horner was the guest speaker at this event. Prior to Mr. Homer’s address, there were a couple of company introductions and presentations. These presentations were excellent and I was excited to know more.
I asked Mr. Nichols if he had a contact to share as he mentioned he knew some people that were mentioned in the company introductions that I could connect with, but he would “ask Catherine to help me connect”. Cal graciously called over Ms. Brownlee during a break and introduced her to me and we exchanged emails. Later that same afternoon, I was happy to receive an introductory email from Catherine which included a thank you to Mr. Nichols and myself for attending.
Then, a couple days later, Catherine provided a follow-up email and a further introduction to the AEG by including Mr. Kelly Charlebois as a contact. Additionally, in the body of the email Catherine offered her time to chat with me about the benefits of my company and I joining the AEG group as a member.
In the following few weeks from the event in March, Catherine continued to update me via email on upcoming AEG events. Due to Catherine’s open dialogue, willingness to help, and the amazing event I attended and the upcoming one’s I learned about, I eagerly signed up my company to be a member on April 30th·2024.
I have now attended events in Calgary, Grande Prairie, and in Edmonton and will be presenting my company as a member at the November 26th·2024 event attended by Premier Danielle Smith.
Every event has been a joy to attend. From the venues, to the food, to the guest speakers, to quality of membership attendees, every event has been first class.
