We are at one of the most critical times in Canada. Not only did our Liberal PM have to step aside due to crashing support by all Canadians, including many Liberals. But, to add insult to injury, they pulled ‘slick Mark Carney’ out of a bin as his successor. Not only is he a buddy of Trudeau’s, but he was also an advisor on many of his failed and outrageous policies and spending. Doesn’t say much about his advisory skills.
Carney claims various credentials, such as doctorates from Harvard and Oxford, along with influential friends in ‘high places.’ Not to mention the WEF. Carney describes himself as an ‘elitist’ and believes that some things should be controlled or owned only by the richest and best educated people, of which he is one.
Carney chose to make his announcement for running as Prime Minister of Canada on an American late-night comedy show. Seemed appropriate in many ways! This was followed by a press release in Edmonton with only mainstream media allowed. He doesn’t like tough questions.
Carney went out of his way to announce he is ‘an elitist’ and makes no apologies for it. To formalize his announcement, he and some Liberal members held a ‘fake’ debate. At least that is what it appeared to be. Carney failed the French test and much of the English. It seems to be a coronation of Carney by the party that disqualified a candidate without telling her. Let’s hope the Liberal voters have more common sense than to vote for more of the same.
Regardless of the fact that Alberta has the third largest oil reserves in the world, we import 179 million barrels of foreign oil every year. We are the fifth largest supplier of natural gas, but we can’t export LNG because the Liberals claim there is “no business case for it.”
President Trump is now threatening us with tariffs for not keeping our commitments on the border, immigration and military. We appear to be stuck with a potential replacement as Prime Minister from the same package as Trudeau – Mark Carney, the ‘elitist.’ And given the disarray among the Liberal caucus, they seemed incapable of making decisions and were mostly threatening to quit. Enter Mark Carney! Now it appears some are staying. The key to all Liberal politics appears to be someone ‘flashy’ with ‘unproven’ skills. Not to mention, Carney believes he is the best person to negotiate tariffs with President Trump because he is so well educated and has ‘worldly experience.’ We all know President Trump will run rings around him!
Carney has never managed an economy during a global financial crisis, but tried to take credit for the 2008-2009 global financial crisis and another during Paul Martin’s time. As advisor to Trudeau, we saw huge increases in the money supply, overwhelming immigration and plans to shut down our petroleum industry. Suddenly, they are talking about more pipelines and more markets for our natural resources. They have no other ideas.
To cover for having no original ideas of his own, Carney blatantly ‘stole’ Pierre Poilievre’s key policy, claiming he will drop the carbon tax, but adding a different tax. They have no new and different ideas for stimulating the Canadian economy; that much is apparent.
