A recent article from the Fraser Institute titled “Small business in Canada—a reality check” offers a timely reminder: while we often celebrate entrepreneurs as the backbone of our economy, we continue to make it harder for them to succeed.

Small businesses make up over 98% of all firms in Canada and employ nearly two-thirds of private sector workers.  Yet high taxes, rising labour costs, excessive regulation, and persistent inflation are creating an increasingly hostile environment for those taking risks and creating jobs.
